RSTechED helps businesses build a more connected enterprise. Find out what attendees learned.
RSTechED 2013 combined exceptional content with premier technology for a one-of-a-kind educational experience. A sold-out crowd of over 2,000 people participated in 150-plus hands-on labs, tech sessions and presentations, all aimed at one thing - understanding how to get the full capability and utility from Rockwell Automation software and technology products, and bring that value to day-to-day operations.

Rockwell Automation Senior Vice President Frank Kulaszewicz and Chief Technical Officer Sujeet Chand presented "The Connected Enterprise," detailing new approaches to building a more connected enterprise and fostering innovation to help solve industry challenges and meet global demands.

Products, Services and Solution News

Improve functionality. HART modules (1756-IF8H, -OF8H and -IF16H) now feature updated Device Type Managers (DTMs) for compatibility with Windows 7 and Honeywell systems for increased functionality with HART instruments attached to a PlantPAx Process Automation System. Enhanced interoperability with RSLinx® software improves overall performance with HART-enabled architectures making configuration and management of HART instruments even easier. Download

Cost effective motion solution. Kinetix® VP low inertia motors support Integrated Motion on EtherNet/IP, delivering high performance and scalability that allows you to run motion applications on a single control platform using a single network. Now includes additional frame sizes from 63mm to 165mm and a continuous torque range of 0.46-33 Nm.

Robust design, easy installation. New external rotary operating handles improve one-hand operation and offer a more comfortable grip.

Expand your network capabilities. Adding a PanelView Plus 6 Ethernet accessory module to a PanelView Plus 6 logic module provides an Ethernet port that allows you to integrate separate data networks, and gives you additional options for remote connectivity and terminal-to-terminal communication.

Leverage the speed of EtherNet/IP. Connect the new dual-port EtherNet/IP communication adapter to PowerFlex® drives, SMC Flex and SMC-50 smart motor controllers to control, configure and collect data over an EtherNet/IP network. Supports linear, star and ring topologies as well as Device Level Ring (DLR) functionality.
