Receptionist - Full Time
Location: Harrisburg, PA branch

Primary Objective of Position:
Operate a telephone system to transfer incoming, outgoing and inter-office calls.  Greet and assist all persons arriving at the office.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
(Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs)
 • Answer incoming telephone calls
 • Transfer calls to correct person and if needed, page persons who are not in their office
 • Give caller information as required
 • Appropriately deal with emergency calls
 • Check company general voice mail box and transfer calls accordingly
 • Greet vendors, customers, job applicants and other visitors and assure they are escorted to
    the proper office
 • Distribute incoming faxes to appropriate personnel
 • Assist with support activities for various departments throughout the company

 • Friendly, patient, polite, helpful and pleasant on the telephone
 • Quick-thinking and able to work under pressure
 • Ability to learn staff names, titles and responsibilities, and how departments are organized
 • Ability to learn the telephone and directory system of the company
 • Clear speech and good hand-eye coordination
 • Excellent spoken communication and listening skills
 • Ability to speak and listen clearly
 • Patience with frustrated callers
 • Ability to organize work and priorities to meet deadlines

 • High school diploma or equivalent GED
 • Two years experience in a front-line telephone receptionist position preferred

Power Distribution Specialist (GEAR) - Full Time
Location: Allentown, PA branch

General Description:
Provide the Sales Department, Customers, and Vendors with the necessary support for all aspects of power distribution solutions to include high, medium and low voltage products and systems. This position focuses on the support of the sale department’s efforts in meeting company goals and obtaining the desired sales results.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
  Plan & Spec Project
  • Receive project assignments from Construction Coordinator
  • Complete project qualification form
  • Formulate approximate project budget based on product documentation and contractor
    supplied quantities
  • Review drawings and notes (Hard Copy or on Builders exchange)
  • Review any applicable one line drawings
  • Review Project Specifications
       - Identify appropriate certifications or requirements (Buy American, Minority participation,
       - Verify extra material requirements
       - Substitution Provisions
       - Decide level of material standards set by project documentation
  • Assemble material takeoff / B.O.M.
  • Develop Bid Strategy, Communicate with Vendors, Contractors and Outside sales.
  • Transmit final Bid Documents to applicable contractors as well as SYD O/S personnel
    (Eclipse and Excel)

Post Bid Responsibilities
  • Collect and communicate any feedback from Customers and Salespeople to Vendors, and
    adjust Bid accordingly
  • Relay bid result information to Construction Coordinators for reporting
  • Bid follow up discussions in coordination with outside sales
  • Compile or obtain, and deliver submittal documents based on project specific requirements
  • Receive and review signed, stamped and approved submittal documents
  • Convert existing Eclipse bid to Sales order and produce and send Purchase orders to

  Other Duties
  • Respond to incoming customer phone, fax, and email requests for:
       - Quotation of Material
       - Technical support of products
       - Distribution equipment recommendations
  • Purchase material in Eclipse as required
  • Track and expedite material to meet customer timelines as needed
  • Maintain Eclipse sales data by continually cancelling Bids and providing price feedback
  • Participate in joint planning and sales calls with other SYD team members as well as
    manufacturer’s representatives

Knowledge / Experience / Education
 • High School Diploma or equivalent required
 • Minimal of five years experience in Electrical/Construction Industry
 • Understanding of basic electrical principals and systems
 • Electrical/Lighting industry experience preferred
 • Knowledge of lighting and electrical distribution equipment products
 • Experience with related computer software (Microsoft Products, Adobe Professional, CAD or
   CAD based Design software) that affect or touch our daily productivity
 • Eclipse experience Preferred
