Electrical Vehicle Charging

12/15/2021

Just a couple of weeks ago, Schaedler Yesco announced the addition of Electric Vehicle Charging to its long list of electrical solutions.

Earlier this week, The Biden administration announced a federal strategy to build 500,000 charging stations for electric vehicles across the country and reduce the cost of electric cars as a way to transform the automotive industry.

“The time for electrical contractors to investigate how they can enter this growing opportunity is NOW,” said VP of Construction, Steve Shepps. “It’s about more than just the chargers.  When chargers are installed, it includes a wider scope of work such as trenching, curb, sidewalk and lot work, safety bollards, pavement markings and signage, and of course, power and ethernet wiring.”

With the support of the government, including significant funding through rebates and tax credits, the EV infrastructure will grow exponentially in the coming years.

“The opportunity is scalable too,” explained John Polites, Schaedler Yesco’s Energy and EV Charger Specialist. “It’s not an all-or-nothing situation. A charger network can be planned and installed for several charging stations, but the chargers can be added as demand increases. This gives flexibility to the charger owner.”
